Production Manager - 1st and 2nd Shift

Description
Plans, organizes, directs and controls all shift production functions. Provides supervision and direction of operations and support personnel to achieve production goals consistent with budgetary costs and quality and delivery standards.
Responsibilities
Monitors and ensures safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are achieved.
Leads teams in the deployment of lean practices including Visual Management, Pull Systems, 5S, Standard Work and problem solving methods.
Completes succession planning, development planning and disciplinary actions.
Conducts employee performance reviews and recommends progression increases.
Maintains an adequately skilled work force consistent with production goals and schedules.
Provides training and guidance as required for personnel development and resolution of routine problems.
Plans and schedule overtime, with appropriate approvals, as production demands require and works with other shifts in the scheduling, staffing and planning activities.
Responsibilities include management of production support departments, ensures compliance for all federal, state and other regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, HAZMAT, Import / Export requirements, maintaining Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism certification, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Business Administration, or Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline, with a minimum of six (6) years experience in supervisory or engineering support in production management, or
A minimum of eight (8) years related experience gained from increasingly responsible positions within a related production area.
Training in key Perfect Execution disciplines Lean methods and 6 Yellow belt minimum.
Leadership Experience and Interpersonal skills.
Written and Verbal Communication skills.
Judgment and Decision Making capability.
Organizing and planning capabilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity suites currently in use by the company.
