Assistant Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

1st Shift M-F 6am-2:30pm
2nd Shift M-Th 2:30pm-1am
Pay: $10.00/hr
Primary Job Duties:
- Assist Machine Operator with setups
- Assist Machine Operator with running jobs by loading raw materials
- Assist Machine Operator with running jobs by catching output and stacking, bundling or moving finished goods to maintain a smooth workflow
- Operate banding machine to bundle finished goods as specified for each job
- Monitor to ensure that all finished goods are of high quality and meet job specifications to guarantee customer satisfaction
- Assist Machine Operator with cleanup of machine and work area during and after each job.
- Properly account for time worked on each machine using diary cards and enter daily activity into the time reporting system.
- Assist Machine Operator to ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
- Perform housekeeping on a continuous basis to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
- Suggest/Identify ways to improve cycle time, reduce errors or reduce cost of processing.
- Other duties as determined by Shift Supervisor.
Secondary Duties:
- Operate simple machinery independently as needed and account for time accordingly.
- Record job statistics on the daily production report and entering the information into the production reporting system.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret instructions and layouts on Production Cards in order to properly setup the simple machines and run the job.
Requirements
- Assist with operating complex machines.
- Operate and setup simple machines such as the slitter, band saw, up and down.
- Stand in place for long periods of time.
- Bending, lifting, twisting on a continuous and repeating basis.
- Ability to lift and move 70 lbs.
- Ability to clearly communicate with machine operators, material handlers and other employees and managers as needed.
- Attention to detail, counting and numerical accuracy.
- Ability to focus on a single task in a busy environment.
- Awareness of and adherence to good industrial safety practices.
HS Diploma or GED RequiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
